Hello, my name is Deron, and I am a metal music fan. There, I said it.
MetalAges.com was originally launched in 2000 as a metal e-zine. Much to my happiness it was fairly successful and served as a great outlet for me to talk about the bands I loved, old school and current alike. It also opened up many doors for me when it came to connecting with bands, music fans, labels and potential design clients.
After running as a zine for about a year and a half I suddenly found myself spending my time working on web development and hosting for bands. I was lucky enough to establish great working relationships with music clients such as Evergrey, Kamelot, Symphony X, InsideOut Music America and many more; and many of which I continue to work with to this day. Also joining the list was ProgPower USA after seeing some of my posts / design work via the Perpetual Motion forum.
In the year 2004, my friend Mark who I had met via a little ‘ol site he started called UltimateMetal.com, decided he was no longer interested in running his site and was therefore looking to sell it. We had become pretty good friends since meeting online in 2001 and our thought process/ideals for running a site such as UltimateMetal.com were very similar. He offered, and I accepted, Ultimate Metal in April of 2004.
These days I continue to work with many music clients, I still run (and am planning on expanding) UltimateMetal.com, and now with the relaunch of MetalAges.com in blog format I hope to spark several more metal/music based projects; many of which are already in the design process (along with my now business partner Mark!).
MetalAges.com will feature interviews, reviews, musings, audio/video, and a general eye in the sky on the world of metal music.
